We operate fully guided safaris in the core and buffer areas of Kanha Tiger Reserve and Phen Wildlife Sanctuary in open jeeps specially modified to seat 4 or 6 passengers comfortably.

Safaris take place twice daily, except Wednesday afternoons and the full days of Diwali and Holi when the park is closed.

Morning safaris commence at sunrise until 11:30am (approx 5 hours) stopping for a picnic breakfast which we carry from the lodge.

Afternoon safaris commence from 3-4pm onwards (depending on the season), until sunset (approx 3 hours).

We take care of all your safaris bookings for you. For this we require your ID details as well as a deposit.

Entry permits are released on a limited quota 120 days in advance and often sell out very quickly. It is highly advised to PLAN YOUR TRIP 4 MONTHS IN ADVANCE.

One permit = one jeep. We can seat up to 6 people per jeep.

Kanha’s tourism area is divided into 4 zones. One permit = one zone. We have full freedom to explore that zone.

You can book a permit on a private basis, or request a shared safari with other guests staying at Shergarh (subject to availability), which is more economical and eco-friendly.

A full-day photographer’s permit is available on a separate, premium quota at the Field Director’s discretion. Full-day permits give unlimited access to all 4 zones, and start and end 20 mins before and after the regular safari timings.
